Founder of Ronald Kumar Law Group, Ronald Kumar is highly knowledgeable in personal injury law, civil litigation, immigration law, and sports and entertainment law. Although his practice focuses mainly on ICBC personal injury cases, he accepts cases ranging from general civil litigation, breach of contract matters, and immigration appeals. Ronald is also very passionate about sports and entertainment law and represents athletes and entertainment professionals as their agent, or with their contract negotiations, salary arbitration, litigation, and with a variety of other services.
Ronald was born and raised in south Vancouver. He majored in criminology and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (honors) at Simon Fraser University. Thereafter he completed his Juris Doctor in Law. After graduating from law school Ronald articled at Vertlieb Dosanjh. In 2014 Ronald formed Ronald Kumar Law Group and the firm has since focused on injury cases, breach of contract cases, immigration appeals, and sports and entertainment law.
Ronald has earned a reputation as a skilled lawyer amongst his peers. Although he is a hardnosed litigator he is very compassionate and kind towards his clients. He treats every client matter with the utmost care and attention and approaches all matters with an open mind with his goal being to deliver optimum results for his clients. He has successfully fought for and achieved favorable results for his clients through both settlement and Court. He has appeared before the British Columbia Provincial Court, Immigration Appeal Division, British Columbia Supreme Court, and British Columbia Court of Appeal.
In addition to his busy law practice, Ronald is also actively involved in both the legal community and his own community. He is currently on the Board of Governors at the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C. He is an active member of the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C., Canadian Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association, and Law Society of B.C. Ronald is the founder of the Ronald Kumar Law Scholarship which is awarded to two graduating secondary students at John Oliver Secondary School (his alma mater).
Ronald previously was the Chair of the New Lawyers Committee, and a member of the Membership Committee at the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C. He also previously served as a board member for Marpole Oakridge Family Place.
Ronald is an avid fundraiser for the B.C. Cancer Foundation, as well as for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. He is a strong believer in mentoring youth and fostering community relationships and frequently participates in speaking events at schools and community events. Ronald plays ice-hockey, softball and golf, and also enjoys various water sports and fishing.
